FAQ

What is a remap and how does it work?
Remapping a car, also known as 'tuning,' is a simple and affordable process that involves adjusting the microchip in your car's Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to overwrite the factory settings. This enables your vehicle to perform to its full potential. Various parameters, such as fuel pressure and boost pressure, are adjusted within the map.
Will the Remap cause my car to fail its MOT?
Because it does not increase emissions, a remap will not cause your car to fail a mot.
Removing your dpf, on the other hand, will increase emissions and cause you to fail your mot.
Do you provide any kind of guarantee?
At MRK Performance, we offer a Lifetime Software Warranty on our software, but only if there is a problem with it.
Please be aware that if you lose your remap as a result of a manufacturer's service, you will be charged £50 to have a new remap file written into your vehicle. In addition, we do not cover any vehicle damage.
Is it possible to undo a Remap?
Yes, at MRK Performance we have the ability to return your vehicle to its factory settings at any time. There is a £60 fee.
Are the maps in your files generic?
We never use generic map files at MRK Performance because they are not for your car, but for a car that is very similar to yours. Because we read from your vehicle's ECU, which contains the data for your car, each of our maps is unique to your vehicle. After that, the data is modified with special software before being rewritten to your car, meaning all our maps are custom tuned.
We only use genuine professional market tools such as Alien tech and all our tools are registered.
